THE Moors Valley Summer Steam Gala is to offer a host of trains and automobiles this weekend.
The event, to be held at Kingsmere station on Saturday and Sunday, includes a host of family attractions and free admission.
There will be vintage cars, fire engines, up to 50 miniature and full-size coal-fired traction engines. A model railway exhibition and frequent trains pulled by a selection of up to 12 different railway engines.
There will also be fairground organ music.
The railway’s general manager Jim Haylock said: “In previous years, our passenger trains - normal fares apply - are so popular we have to run them every ten minutes to cope with demand.”
On Sunday morning a grand parade of all the steam engines will take place before train services start at 10.45am.
Public access facilities at Kingsmere station include refreshment bar, picnic tables, a nearby baby changing room, station shop and trade stands.
The gala is open 10.45am–5pm on both days.
