THREE Salisbury fire officers have been honoured for their loyalty and exemplary service.
Crew manager, Paul McDonnell, and firefighters, Brent Bullus and Paul Noke, were presented with long service and good conduct medals by the Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire, John Bush, at a ceremony in Devizes on Tuesday.
Mr Bullus, who is married with a 17-year-old son, joined Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service in 1990, and has been based with Salisbury’s Blue Watch for the past ten years.
Mr McDonnell, who is also married with one son and has served with the fire service since 1990, spent 17 years based at Amesbury Fire Station before moving to Salisbury in 2007.
Mr Noke joined the service at Salisbury in 1990 and has remained there throughout his career.
Speaking at the ceremony, chief fire officer, Andy Goves, said: “This is one of the most prestigious and important events in our annual calendar, as it allows us to publicly recognise and thank those members of the Fire & Rescue Service who have served their communities for at least 20 years, employers who support our retained firefighters, and other key members of the service.
“Firefighting is a very caring profession, but firefighters cannot do this very fulfilling job without total support from their close friends and family, so our thanks go to them too.”
