SALISBURY’S first Racketlon championship was a great success, and will now become an annual event.
The sport, in which entrants each compete at four games - table tennis, badminton squash and tennis - was launched in Finland in the 1980s and is growing in popularity in Britain.
Ka Fue Lay, who organised the tournament at Five Rivers Leisure Centre, said: “People who got to know about it by word of mouth have already been enquiring about the next one.”
Trophies, sponsored by the Journal, were awarded to Robert Sterner and Lorna Bidgood. There was also a women’s doubles contest, won by Lorna Bidgood and Rachel Greig.
