A RESCUE dog called Wolfie has been lost in the New Forest since last Monday.

He is very nervous and had only been in his home for 36 hours, so will not know where to go back to. He is a medium size, black and tan, wire-haired lurcher.

He went missing from the Linwood area near the Red Shoot pub, and was seen several times over a wide area on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, but there have been no sightings since then. There have been lots of people out looking for him, coming from as far afield as Cambridge and London to help with the search.

One of the searchers, Alison ** from Southern Counties GSD Rescue, said: “People have covered a huge area on horseback, walking and on mountain bikes, but it is a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack, and complicated by the poor mobile reception in the area.

“There are posters all around the area with his photo and contact details for his owners, my neighbours Sue and Grahame - 01425 474796, 07801 098485.”

There is a web page with more information and a map of sightings that is being regularly updated: here
