THREE pet labradors have been killed in a house fire in Blissford near Fordingbridge.
More than 60 firefighters fought the blaze, which ripped through the house yesterday (Monday).
The owners are believed to be abroad, and the property was being looked after by a house sitter, who was out when the fire started.
However, two labrador dogs belonging to the homeowners and a third which belonged to the house sitter are thought to have suffocated as thick smoke spread throughout the building.
A fourth dog inside the two-storey detached home at Brook Farm, Blissford Road, was rescued by passers-by and taken to a vet for observation.
Fire investigation officers are working to establish the cause of the fire, which is not believed to be suspicious.
