GP surgeries in Wiltshire have been rated better than the national average by patients who took part in a survey.

For overall satisfaction GPs in Wiltshire received a 94 per cent rating, compared to the national average of 91.
Fifty nine per cent of people said it was easy to get through on the telephone to their surgery, compared to 51 per cent for the national average.
A total of 71 per cent of people in Wiltshire said they were able to see a doctor quickly when needed and 93 per cent were satisfied with the amount of time they had with the doctor.
In Wiltshire 18,100 patients were sent questionnaires of which 9,470 replied, a response rate of 52 per cent.
Alison Knowles, the director of strategy and communication at NHS Wiltshire, said: “We’re really pleased with these results. GPs and their teams work really hard to deliver a high standard of care to patients.
“Over the last year we’ve extended the opening hours at every GP surgery and improved the out of hours service in the evening and at weekends.”
