HELP FOR HEROES has now raised a total of £37million for wounded servicemen and women.
The charity was founded by Downton residents Bryn and Emma Parry in 2007 because they wanted to support service personnel returning from Afghanistan and Iraq.
The money is being used to build a special swimming pool and treatment complex at Headley Court in Surrey.
The charity is also raising money to establish Personnel Recovery Centres across the UK.
It hopes these will provide the seriously wounded or long-term sick with a "launchpad to life".
One centre has opened in Edinburgh and offers medical support and an individually tailored programme which includes career management and counselling.
It is hoped that other centres could be based Tidworth, Colchester, Catterick and Aldershot.
Former soldier Mr Parry said: "There is a wonderful tidal wave of support rushing through this country as people are determined to do something and show their support for the armed forces."
