SALISBURY’S cutest children came to collect their trophies and portraits at the Child of the Year presentation on Monday.
Winner of the baby category was Louis Warlow who celebrated his first birthday yesterday.
“We were really pleased he had won and it’s a really nice picture,” said proud mum Lisa, who brought Louis to the Journal’s office to collect his prizes with his dad Lee and three-week-old brother Oliver.
“Maybe we’ll enter them both next year,” she added.
It was a second success for 21-month-old Alfie Pawlak-Walsh, who won the boys competition after winning the baby contest of the annual photographic competition last year.
“We have lots of lovely pictures of him and were really pleased he won again,” said his mum Amy Walsh.
First time winner Pippa Levick, 19 months, won the girl’s prize, much to the delight of her mum Louise Long.
“We are very proud and were really shocked,” she said.
“Of course we know she’s gorgeous but it’s nice that other people think so too.”
The overall winners, who also won the open category were Summer Lewis, four, and her two-year-old brother Jay.
“Summer won the girl’s competition two years ago on her own and now it’s nice they’ve won it together,” said her mum Kayleigh Paxton, who won a bonny baby competition herself when she was six months old.
Summer and Jay’s dad Andy Lewis is also a former winner– after he was photographed dressed as Prince Charming at the age of seven.
“It must run in the family,” he said.
The competition was run by Fraser Portraits and the children had their pictures taken at the Tesco stores in Salisbury.
