A LOCAL charity has opened two new supported living projects in Amesbury for people with learning disabilities.
Alabaré Christian Care Homes, a charity that works with homeless and vulnerable people across the south west, has opened two new purpose-built adjoining homes - one to provide 24-hour supported accommodation and the other to provide medium to low level support.
The first two residents have already settled in to the 24-hour home, Joshua House, and will be joined by four new residents in the New Year.
Supported living manager Ruth Telford said: “I am delighted that we have opened a further two supported living projects. The two new houses in Amesbury look fantastic and I want to thank everyone for the hard work they have put into making this happen. I am delighted that the first two residents have settled in to their new home well and hope they continue to do so.
“I look forward to having two full houses in the New Year.”
The project aims to improve the prospects for vulnerable people to help them to learn to live independently.
