YOUNG people from Salisbury will be working alongside professional filmmakers to produce a short film, thanks to funding from a national organisation.
First Light distributes £1.1million of National Lottery money as part of the Young Film Fund to help young people aged between five and 19 produce their own films.
As a result of their creative and inventive ideas, 12 young people aged between 14 and 17 have been awarded £4,918 to work with professional filmmakers in a project co-ordinated by Salisbury Arts Centre.
They will be involved with every aspect of the production process from drawing storyboards and writing the scripts to directing and lighting the films alongside industry professionals.
Leigh Thomas, of First Light, said: “First Light funds some amazing stories, from young people all over the UK, tackling some very important issues that are relevant to young people today. We strive to enable young filmmakers from all backgrounds to make fantastic films and scripts, grown from their own imaginative and innovative ideas.”
