MEMBERS of Ringwood Town Council’s planing, town and environment committee have recommended that New Forest District Council reject a plan for a pair of semi-detached houses on land at Brooks Close.

The district council has received an application from David Spencer of Crow for the homes, along with access and parking, on the cul-de-sac.

But residents fear the plan would result in losing the only green space in the area where children can play.

At a meeting on Friday (November 6) councillors recommended rejection on the grounds of loss of open amenity space, safety and parking problems.

Chairman of Ringwood’s planning committee Nigel Clarke said: “There is not adequate provision for parking and cycling.

“There are a high number of cars parked on the road which could increase if the new homes are built, which could put at risk the ability of the emergency services to gain access.

“The houses will overlook the existing houses on the other side of the road.”
