BROKEN bones, burns and bleeding wounds were all dealt with at an event held in Wilton, but there was no need to worry.
Scouts from across the country were competing to become National First Aid Champions in a competition held at Wilton Scout Hall Each child faced seven situations in which emergency aid would need to be given and had five minutes to solve each one, before leaders taking the workshops would stop and ask questions or suggest other methods of approach to aid the youngsters future knowledge.
The winner’s trophy was eventually lifted by the 3rd Salisbury troop.
Group Scout leader Sandra McKenna said: “All the boys made a great contribution to team effort and were open mouthed when it was announced they had won. They couldn’t believe it, but were totally delighted.”
