TISBUS, the community minibus service for Tisbury and the surrounding villages, has added a new 16-seater to its fleet.

The service, which has seen a large increase in membership this year, has also been extended.

In addition to regular market day runs to Salisbury on Tuesdays and Shaftesbury on Thursdays – both free to bus pass holders - it is taking shoppers into Tisbury on Fridays, to Warminster every month, and starting Saturday shopping trips to Salisbury in December from 10am to 2pm.

Its organisers are also hoping to extend the Friday run to take more shoppers to Tisbury.

Members get a door-to-door service, and the volunteer drivers will even help them unload their shopping.

There are four buses in the Tisbus fleet, the smallest carrying six passengers.

They can be hired for functions such as weddings and outings for playgroups, churches and youth clubs.

Membership details and further information, including details of outings planned for 2010, are available from co-ordinator Errolyn Neighbours on 07500 802525.
