BIKERS from the New Forest have supported the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance with a generous donation.
The New Forest branch of the Harley Davidson Riders Club has donated £1,000 to the air ambulance as its chosen charity.
John Hopkins, Harley Davidson representative for the New Forest area, said: “As each member renews their membership they give a donation to the club charity fund and each year a different region chooses a recipient. “The New Forest region has chosen the air ambulance to receive the money as we consider it a very worthwhile cause and in the very nature of our hobby we appreciate the hard work they do in serving the public where speed is essential in saving lives.”
John Perry, chief executive of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance said: “We are extremely grateful to the Harley Davidson Riders Club for this tremendous donation. Support such as this is vital to the service we provide and it is only through the generosity of groups and individuals that we are able to provide this life saving service.”
