WORK has begun to restore Ashmore Pond to its former glory.
Ashmore, one of Dorset’s highest villages at over 700ft above sea level, is built around the pond, which provided water before pipes were installed.
The pond has been leaking water for many years but lottery-funded renovation work has now begun to restore it to its former state.
