MEMBERS of Salisbury Methodist Church have been celebrating 250 years of creativity on the site this month by holding an art exhibition.
The exhibition, part of this year’s Salisbury Art Trail, involved work by the church’s art and stitching group, which was put up on display and available to buy.
A spokesman for the church said Monday marked the anniversary of John Wesley preaching at the Greencroft Street church 250 years ago.
“It was an idea and an opportunity to use our own church celebrations to be part of something wider in Salisbury,” said a spokesman for the church.
“It went reasonably well. It would have been nice to have more people through the doors but there were one or two sales of paintings.”
