SPOOKS and spectres, ghosts and ghouls could be disturbed in a series of spine chilling tours around Salisbury, starting tonight.
Sponsored by Salisbury City Council, Spooky Spectacular runs from today until October 31 and is a chance for brave souls to enjoy tales of witches, wizards, phantoms and spirits on numerous guided walks in and around the city.
Local Blue Badge Guides will lead people to hidden parts of the haunted city to some of Salisbury’s best kept spooky secrets.
They will get a chance to hear the spooky story of The Duke of Buckingham, who is said to still haunt the building now occupied by Debenhams, where he was imprisoned and beheaded.
For the less brave there are a series of Family Frighteners especially designed for young children and parents.
Annie Child , service manager for Salisbury City Council, said: “When we were first approached to support this event we were keen to include the Guildhall and it is fantastic that we can now provide a series of tours focusing on the Guildhall ghosts and gruesome tales of its past.”
