HSBC South Corporate Banking Centre has donated £1,000 to Wessex Cancer Trust.
The cheque was presented to Sally Hall, Wessex Cancer Trust’s chief executive, by Mark Frettingham, HSBC’s head of corporate banking in the region.
The Corporate Banking Centre was the recent recipient of HSBC’s internal award for ‘Corporate Banking Team of the Year’. To celebrate the win, the team was awarded £1,000 to be donated to a charity of their choice and following staff nominations, Wessex Cancer Trust was selected.
Mr Frettingham said: “We are proud to support a charity that makes such a big difference to the lives of many people across the region. As our chosen charity we are very happy to be able to help Wessex Cancer Trust continue its fantastic work.”
The Wessex Cancer Trust is an independent charity which supports and helps to improve cancer services in the Wessex region. The trust supports many aspects of cancer care, including leading edge research, the improvement of patient facilities, purchase of equipment, patient grants, complementary therapy and counselling services.
Sally Hall, Chief Executive at Wessex Cancer Trust said: “We are delighted to receive this very generous donation from HSBC. Both the Wessex Cancer Trust and HSBC believe it's very important that the commercial world and third sector work together to increase capacity in order to help support cancer patients and their families even more effectively. My sincerest thanks go to Mark and the staff at HSBC, who nominated the Wessex Cancer Trust as their chosen charity.”
