A ROYAL Mail worker has denied murdering former Salisbury City Football Club steward Paula Poolton.
Roger Kearney appeared before Winchester Crown Court on Monday and pleaded not guilty to the single charge relating to the death of Mrs Poolton.
Kearney, 56, from Painswick Close, Park Gate, Southampton, is currently on bail after making an application to a judge in chambers following his remand after charges were brought against him.
Kearney was released on a £35,000 surety to observe the conditions of his bail term, which include living at an address in Lincolnshire where he must report daily to police.
He was been banned from returning to the county, except for court appearances, and from contacting any witnesses in the case.
Mrs Poolton, 40, of Course Park Crescent, Titchfield, vanished on October 17 last year. Her body was later found in the boot of her black Peugeot car near Swanwick train station, some 11 days later. She had suffered multiple stab wounds.
