HELPERS are needed to save a much-loved service that has been running for decades from disappearing.
The Verwood Friends of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra have organised monthly visits to the orchestra’s winter season of Wednesday concerts at Poole Lighthouse for 30 years.
A coach starts from the Potters Wheel car park in Verwood and stops at a number of pick-up points through Verwood, Three Legged Cross and Ashley Heath, with one on the A31 accessible from West Moors.
The group is run by volunteers, but doesn't have enough.
A spokesman said: “Numbers this season so far have been considerably down on previous years and there is serious concern that it will not be possible to continue something that has been a great source of pleasure to many people over the years and has given support to one of the country’s finest orchestras.
“New friends are needed to help save the VFBSO who would be given a warm welcome whether they decide to join the group for one or all the visits.”
Anyone interested is asked to call 01202 824959 for information and this season’s programme.
