A SALISBURY gym is charging visitors just £1 to make use of their facilities on Tuesday to raise money for The Trussell Trust.
LA Fitness is holding the special Trussell Tuesday fundraiser as part of its campaign to raise £2,010 by 2010 for the local charity, which works to combat poverty here and overseas.
Staff will be dressing up in green, the charity’s colour, and will be letting everyone in for just £1 to use the gym facilities and fitness classes, which include yoga and spinning.
Gym visitors can also get the opportunity to pay another £1 and throw a wet sponge at gym employee Paul Cox.
“The Trussell Trust is a great local charity and I’d do a lot for them,” said Paul. “That’s why I don’t mind dressing up and standing in the stocks for a bit.
“I hope people get involved in Trussell Tuesday - it’s a great way to get fit, have fun and give to charity.”
Trussell Trust events manager Mark Elling said: “Raising £2,010 by 2010 is no mean feat and we are thrilled that LA Fitness has taken on this challenge.
“We are so impressed by LA Fitness’s enthusiasm and we hope that lots of people pop along to the gym to support Trussell Tuesday – I’m certainly going to make the most of a swim for a £1.”
