CONSULTATION into the future of Wiltshire begins at the end of the month and residents are being urged to have their say.
Wiltshire Council will be holding the consultation until December 31 and will be putting on exhibitions throughout the area to find out people’s views on development in the county and how issues such as housing and employment growth can be addressed.
The exhibitions will be coming to the Scout Hall in Ludgershall on November 9 from 12pm to 4pm and to Tidworth Community Centre on November 18 from 1pm to 7pm.
Councillors are being asked to approve the ‘Wiltshire 2026 - Planning for Wiltshire’s Future’ document, relating to north, east and west Wiltshire, at the cabinet meeting on October 20.
Responses will then be used to develop a core strategy to be drafted by September next year, when members of the public can comment again.
John Brady, Wiltshire Council’s portfolio holder for economic development, planning and housing, said: “Wiltshire is a beautiful county and a pleasant place to live. Our key objective is to preserve this and ensure that any future development does not destroy our wonderful heritage.”
