FANS of military history can join author Richard Holme at an event being held at the Guildhall next month.
War stories from the ancient world to the 20th century shared by over 60 soldiers who have fought over many years are brought together in his book, I am Soldier.
The book is a collection of vivid accounts graphically depicting the role of the soldier in battle.
Mr Holme, who wrote the introduction to this title, is a British military historian and former soldier, as well as an author and television presenter.
From the Spartans at Thermopylae to the war in the Persian Gulf, this book shows the lives of the individual men and women who made up the great armies that changed the world.
Tickets for the talk, being held at 7pm on November 11, are £6 and available from Salisbury Arts Centre on 01722 321744 and Waterstone’s Bookshop on 01722 415596.
