CHILDREN from Winterslow Primary School have been busy getting their hands dirty planting daffodils while raising money for charity.

Pupils have been planting the flowers as part of Marie Curie Cancer Care’s Mini Pots of Care fundraising activity.

Teaching assistant Tracy Robinson said: “We are all really enjoying taking part in this creative and educational activity and we are delighted to be raising funds so that Marie Curie Nurses can continue to support even more terminally ill people and their families at a time when they need it most. The children have had fun learning how to plant their own bulbs and we are looking forward to seeing their efforts bloom.”

The youngsters are helping to raise funds to provide free nursing care for terminally ill people in their homes or in one of the charity’s hospices, while learning more about science and nature.
