RESIDENTS have been assured that anti-social behaviour in Ringwood is not on the rise, despite some recent disruptive behaviour.
Two weeks ago, residents in Winston Way, Poulner, said more than 70 youngsters had turned the quiet street into a war zone, drinking in the street and, according to one resident, fighting on the green.
And recently, following the success of the town carnival, police were again called out and made three arrests for disorder.
Town clerk Terry Simpson said: “We are just like every other town. We get a certain amount of unrest and we get it in different hot spots.
“But I would not say that things are worse than in previous years.
“The problems in Ringwood are not different to anywhere else.”
“We do provide facilities for them but there is a case that whatever we provide, it won’t stop a very small minority.”
