Cubs turned scrap into urban masterpieces at a Salisbury district competition.
On Saturday, November 23, the Salisbury District Cubs held the Scrap Heap Challenge at their district headquarters, Dennis Marsh House in Westminster Road.
The competition involved using recyclable materials to create a construction based on the randomly chosen theme of 'City.'
Eight cub packs, including the 4th Salisbury (Harnham), 8th Salisbury, 14th Salisbury, 1st Laverstock, 1st Wilton, Bourne Valley, 1st Amesbury and 1st Boscombe Down, took part in the event.

The day saw the presence of the mayor and mayoress of Salisbury, Sven and Marcia Hocking, who were among the three special guests.
After the models were completed, the mayor had the difficult task of judging the entries.
The 8th Salisbury Cubs claimed victory, with the 4th Salisbury (Harnham) and Bourne Valley packs taking the runner-up spots.
Ian Jack, the district lead volunteer, dropped by to greet the cubs.
Explorer Scout Ryan Warden also spoke about his experiences at the 2023 World Scout Jamboree in Korea, showing off various mementos from the adventure.
This event not only fostered creativity among the cubs but also provided a platform for shared experiences and community interaction.
