A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after crashing his car into a parked car.

The police attended the scene on South Street in Wilton at 11pm last night (Sunday, December 1), where they arrested a man in his 50s who failed an alcohol breath test.

The man was transported to Salisbury District Hospital for a check-up and was later taken to the Police Station.

(Image: Newsquest) The Peugeot car was left smashed up on South Street, covered with police tape, just outside The Old Orchard Surgery, with debris all over the road and pavement.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "We responded to a report that a driver had crashed into a parked car in South Street, Wilton.

"He was later taken to Amesbury Police Station where he failed an alcohol breath test and was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving."
