A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after he crashed into a river.
Police were called to the A30 in Wilton shortly just 11pm last night (Sunday, December 1), where they arrested the man in his 20s who failed a breathalyser test.
He was then taken to hospital. His smashed-up Renault car was photographed in the River Wylye this morning by a passer-by.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “We were called to a road traffic collision on the A30 in Wilton just after 11pm last night (December 1).
“The driver had left the carriageway and ended up in the River Wylye.
“We arrested a man in his 20s on suspicion of drink driving after he failed a roadside breath test.
“He was taken to Salisbury District Hospital where he received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.”
