The Duck Inn in Laverstock is set to reopen next week.

The well-loved pub in Laverstock has been closed since May 12 after suddenly announcing its closure on social media without advance warning to customers or even the brewery that runs it.

On Thursday (November 28), a Facebook post showed Hopback Brewery delivering beer to the pub and stating that it planned to open again.

New owners have been found and maintenance work is currently ongoing to renovate the pub. The carpets are being redone along with new taps at the bar.

Hopback Brewery explored its options which included either searching for a new tenant or managing the pub itself.

The brewery, which has been brewing since 1988, has taken on the pub itself and will manage it going forward.

Previous landlords Becki and Tim Clifton, who ran the pub for 14 years, said at the time they were "incredibly sad" to announce the closure in a social media post which has since been removed.

The Duck Inn, which won CAMRA's 'Country Pub of the Year' in 2017, deleted its Facebook page in May and nothing has been put back up yet.

The pub is due to reopen at some point next week with no date confirmed yet.
