A 28-year-old man from Amesbury has been arrested after a man in his 40s suffered a number of injuries as he was punched on his face in Basingstoke.
Police were called to a report that a man had been assaulted on Wote Street at around 11.30pm on Saturday, November 23.
The man fell to the ground as he was punched, police said.
He suffered broken teeth and facial injuries and was taken to hospital to receive treatment.
As part of the investigation, a 28-year-old man from Amesbury, Wilts, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
He has been bailed with conditions, pending further enquiries.
Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident and would like witnesses to come forward.
Police believe there were people in the area at the time and some may have witnessed the incident.
