FIREFIGHTERS have rescued a person who became stuck in flood water late last night (Tuesday, November 26).

A technical rescue team from Salisbury Fire Station was called to Summerlock Approach, near Salisbury's central car park, at 11.02pm.

A fire engine from Wilton was also mobilised to help the person to safety, and the British Red Cross attended to provide welfare support.

This is one of 20 flooding incidents the Dorset & Wiltshire Fire Service has attended in the county since Storm Bert struck on Saturday.

“The technical rescue team from Salisbury were mobilised along with one fire engine from Wilton and, on arrival, found one person in flood water. 

“Crews assisted the person to safety and the British Red Cross provided welfare support for the person. Our stop was at 12:07am.”
