A REFURBISHED pub is “finally” ready to reopen to the public under new ownership.

Polly and Mark Waddington, the management team at The Talbot Inn, Berwick St John, will welcome their customers on Sunday, December 1.

Tables for their first roast dinner were fully booked more than a week in advance.

The Waddingtons bought the pub, which is believed to date back to the 17th century, after it was put on the market in November 2023.

In a message to customers on Facebook, they said: “The wait is finally over! The beloved Talbot Inn is reopening!

“After a stunning refurbishment, Polly and Mark Waddington the new management team, will be opening their doors to the public, along with Coco their labradoodle, on December 1.

“Our fabulous chefs will be serving a delicious roast lunch.

“Or why not just come in from the cold and cosy up by the fire with a drink from our choice of local ales or quaffable wines?

“However you to choose to visit us, alone, en famille or with your four-legged friend, you can always expect a very warm welcome.”
