A PUB near Sixpenny Handley has reopened following a refurbishment.
The King John Inn, Tollard Royal, managed by Butcombe Pubs & Inns, is showing off a new look and is welcoming guests once again, just in time for the festive season.
All eight of King John’s guest rooms have been remodelled to a high standard in an elegant modern country style.
Using high quality textiles and furnishings with everything needed for a luxurious night’s stay, each room has its own distinct style and personality - super comfy beds, glamorous styling, high-end bathrooms, home baked treats and designer toiletries.
Originally from Montreal and with more than 20 years’ experience in top level hospitality, general manager Charlie April, who has been at the helm since the Spring, is delighted to be welcoming guests to the refreshed King John Inn.

Having moved from Canada, Charlie fell in love with England and was drawn to the King John’s quintessentially English look and feel.
He said: “The King John Inn is a classically English inn, surrounded by stunning countryside. I love the fact we’re at the heart of such a wonderful community where everyone knows and cares for each other.
"We always go the extra mile for our guests taking care to delight and spoil them, and especially love celebrating with them and being part of special occasions and get togethers.”
Heading up the kitchen team is head chef Wesley Bament who, after 35 years in the industry, is making quite a name for himself in the local area.
Wesley said: “We have very discerning guests here at the King John Inn, who know their food and really appreciate what we do. I was classically trained so I can really let my creativity run wild here with a range of fine dining and elevated classics always on the menu - using the most incredible local produce that we’re lucky to have on our doorstep.”
At the bar, guests can enjoy a wide range of Butcombe Brewing Co’s ever-popular beers, lager and cider, a beautifully curated wine list, premium spirits, and a great selection of cocktails.
