A SELLOUT event raising money for mental health causes saw people from across the country come to Salisbury.

Salisbury's Mental Health Gala took place on November 16 at Salisbury Guildhall, raising £8,000 for Kickstart FC and United Minds Hampshire, both causes that help people suffering with their mental health by holding football sessions and support groups.

Michelle Price sang a song called 'Your story ends', which was written in memory of her friend who died last year by suicide.

Hosts Lucianne Fitzgerald and her husband Tony announced that they felt it was time to move forward and launch their own mental health foundation in the new year.

The foundation will be called Safe Haven Mental Health Project, and will aim to help people suffering with their mental health by offering services, groups and mental health first aid training.

Lucianne said: "Sadly there have been more suicides in Salisbury and we need to continue raising as much awareness as we can and break that stigma around mental health.

"We would like to thank sponsors, donors and the people of Salisbury for their continued support in being able to hold this annual event."

The 150 tickets for this year's event sold out in just five hours, so due to the high interest, there will be two galas held in 2026.
