A SALISBURY group is raising money to install a wheelchair swing in Queen Elizabeth Gardens.
The city's disability interest group (DIGS) needs to raise £50,000 to make the project possible, according to its CEO Kez Adey.
If the fundraiser is successful, the swing would be installed on land owned by Salisbury City Council. The quote was provided by the local authority.
DIGS has so far raised around £5,000 and has several fundraising events in the calendar, including regular craft fairs and jumble sales at the Bemerton Centre (Pinewood Way), due to next take place on December 6 and March 29.
There will also be a curry and quiz night at Salisbury Rugby Club on March 13, costing £15 per person or £90 per team.

Kez said: “We need help from the local community.
“We are looking at getting a wheelchair swing installed in Lizzy Gardens (Queen Elizabeth Gardens) and are currently very busy fundraising for this.
“At a cost of £50,000 it hasn't been a quick fundraising mission. We are currently looking for any raffle prizes for our BIG raffle in March.
“We are also looking for any donations that can be used on the tombola/second-hand stall.
“If you believe you can help please comment, message myself or email info@disabilityinterestgroup.com.”
