A FIRE that involved two parked cars and a grass verge on Laverstock Road in Salisbury last night was started deliberately, firefighters believe.
The fire service handed the scene over to Wiltshire Police after extinguishing the fire, which was reported at 5.07pm near Godolphin School.
One fire crew from Salisbury attended, and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus put out the blaze using hose reel jets.

A Dorset & Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were called to Laverstock Road, Salisbury, at 5.07pm last night (November 13) for a fire involving two cars and some grass verge.
“One crew from Salisbury attended and two breathing apparatus wearers used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
“Our stop was at 5.49pm and the incident was left with the police as we believe the fire to have been started deliberately.”
The Salisbury Journal has contacted Wiltshire Police for a statement.
