SIX drivers have been sentenced at Salisbury Magistrates' Court this week for speeding offences.

Gary James Boakes, 44, of Shears Drive, Amesbury, was caught breaking a 30mph speed limit in an Audi Q3 on the A342 St Edith's Marsh in Bromham on December 3, 2023.

Court documents do not disclose the speed he was caught driving at.

Boakes admitted the offence under the single justice procedure on October 23.

He was fined £666 and ordered to pay a £226 surcharge to fund victim services and £90 in court costs.

He has until December 12 to pay his £1,022 court bill. Magistrates also handed him a 28-day driving ban.

Boakes pleaded not guilty to driving without insurance. This offence was dismissed as no evidence was offered.

Todd Ashley Bremner, 34, of Stone Road, Larkhill, broke the 30mph speed limit on the A342 St Ediths Marsh on November 10, 2023.

He was driving a Ford Kuga at the time. Bremner pleaded guilty under the single justice procedure on October 23.

His sentencing was adjourned until November 25 for magistrates to consider disqualification.

Thomas Edward Burt, of Petersfield Road in Bournemouth, admitted to speeding on the A36 in Wylye on December 16, 2023.

The 29-year-old exceeded the 50mph limit in a Ford Focus. Burt pleaded guilty on November 11.

Magistrates fined him £564 and told him to pay a £226 victim surcharge and £90 in costs, giving him a total of £880 to pay by December 9.

Burt also had six points added to his licence.

Andrew Nicholson Grant, 45, of Winchcombe Avenue, Devizes, was caught speeding on the A303 at Fonthill Bishop on November 4, 2023.

Grant pleaded guilty under the single justice procedure on October 9.

He was fined £666 and ordered to pay a £266 surcharge and £90 in costs. He has until December 12 to pay his £1,022 bill.

His driving record was also endorsed with six points.

William Hiley, 64, of Southampton Road, Petersfinger, broke a 30mph speed limit in a Mini Cooper Countryman on the A354 in Coombe Bissett.

He committed the offence on May 8, 2024, and he pleaded guilty on November 11.

Hiley was given three penalty points and a £40 fine. He must also pay a £192 surcharge and £90 in court costs to be paid in full by December 10.

Tira Cooper exceeded a 30mph speed limit on Portway in Winterbourne Gunner on April 5, 2024.

The 33-year-old, who lives on Winding Way, Bemerton Heath, was driving a Nissan Qashqai.

Cooper pleaded guilty and was sentenced on November 11.

She was fined £480 and was given six penalty points, which took her to 12 – enough to be handed a totting-up disqualification.

But she avoided a driving ban as she has a medical condition and because she needs to drive her five children to three different schools.

Alongside her fine, she must pay a £90 in costs and a £16 surcharge. Her court bill must be paid in full by December 10.

The court withdrew an alleged offence of failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle when required.
