POLICE have arrested a man on suspicion of criminal damage and attempted criminal damage after an incident in Zeals on Saturday night.

A resident of Westfields, located just off Portnells Lane, says a man attempted to set his car on fire and scrawled an offensive word on the bonnet.

The incident took place late on Saturday night (November 9). The man, who is in his 30s, has since been released on bail while police enquiries continue.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “We have arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of criminal damage and attempted criminal damage following incidents in Westfields, Zeals.

“He has been bailed while enquiries continue.”
