PLANS have been submitted for the former Alderbury Police Station.

Following its closure in 2020, an applicant hopes to turn Alderbury Police Station into a four bedroom house as well as a garage with a pitched roof and hobby space.

Part of the plans include decreasing the number of parking spaces from six to four and adding four cycle spaces.

The application has been submitted by Mr Reed of Gainsborough Station Developments Ltd in Bridgwater and the agent for the application is Mr Maxwell from Apex Planning Design.

In the design and access statement, Apex Planning Design has said: "The site has been redundant as an active police station for some time. There has not been a staffed walk up front counter service at the property for over 10 years, being utilised purely for administrative purposes in recent years.

Apex say that this current proposal is the "best option" for the site due to the availability of amenity space, parking and turning.
