A PRIMARY school near Salisbury has appointed a new headteacher.
The governors of Woodford Valley CE Primary Academy in Middle Woodford have appointed Donna Young – who has worked there for more than 25 years – to the top job.
“During that time, she has been part of the school’s significant rise in popularity and growth whilst maintaining its warm and caring ethos,” said a school spokesperson.
The previous headteacher, Rebecca Carson, bid the school farewell at the end of the 2023-24 school year after 30-plus years, including 18 as head.
Mrs Young is looking forward to working with parents, the wider community and the Pickwick Academy Trust in her new role.

The spokesperson said: “She is also very proud to be able to work with a fantastic group of staff who inspire and care for all their pupils.
“Woodford is proud of its curriculum which enables and encourages all pupils to flourish. This includes taking part in the national Take One Picture Art Project.
“The school held an exhibition of the artwork produced by all year groups last term and have submitted their project to the National Gallery.”
Woodford Valley is offering tours for parents, including those who are looking for Reception places for the children in September 2025.
Other year group parents are welcome to tour the school and see the curriculum in action.
