It's confirmed - Downton Cuckoo fair will go ahead in 2025.
In a Facebook post on October 30, Downton Cuckoo Fair Limited announced that the annual event will go ahead on Saturday, May 3 2025.
The Cuckoo Fair is a popular event that occurs in Downton on the May bank holiday weekend each year. It attracts up to 20,000 people to the village for Maypole, Morris dancing and folk entertainment, as well as over 300 craft stalls, entertainment and food.

In a statement on the website, the committee said: "We are delighted to announce that behind the scenes, we have managed to recruit a significant number of new personnel to the committee.
"We are indebted to these people coming forward to take on specific roles within the committee and they will help us enormously in our future planning.
"The committee now feel able to go ahead and plan for the next Cuckoo Fair with our new recruits helping us shape our plans for 2025."
the event was cancelled in 2024 due to it being 'financially and organisationally challenging' to run.
This comes afterAnyone wishing to be a stallholder, entertainer or volunteer on the day can apply via the Cuckoo Fair website.
