A lantern marking 10 years of remembrance will be lit for Remembrance Sunday.
The Ringwood Centenary Lantern, a memorial honouring fallen heroes from both World Wars, will play a central role in Remembrance Sunday.
Since August 2014, the lantern at Ringwood Gateway has been lit on the anniversaries of the fallen service members and significant national days, commemorating their sacrifice.
This year marks a decade of this tradition.
The residents of Ringwood, with the support of the Town Council, commissioned the current lantern, which was dedicated on November 3, 2018.
This dedication marked the centenary of the Armistice of 1918, the end of World War I, and demonstrated the community's commitment to honouring those who served.
The Ringwood Meeting House keeps a comprehensive record of all individuals remembered by the lantern and on the Ringwood War Memorial.
This ensures their legacies remain in the hearts of future generations.
The town is inviting people to come together for Remembrance Sunday, to reflect and pay respects to those who gave their lives for the country.
The lantern, a symbol of remembrance and respect, continues to uphold the memory of the brave individuals from the community, ensuring they are never forgotten.
