THREE cars crashed on the A31 through the New Forest – bringing traffic to a standstill.
Emergency services were called to the dual carriageway westbound during the evening rush hour on October 22.
One man in his 20s suffered a serious ankle injury as a result of the crash. He was taken to hospital.
Meanwhile, residents were stuck in miles worth of queues through the New Forest while emergency services dealt with the crash.
Photos from the road show motorists stood outside of their vehicles as the sun set.
Hampshire police’s spokesman said: “We were called at 5.11pm with reports of a collision involving three vehicles – a Vauxhall Vivaro, a Citroen C3 and a Volkswagen Scirocco – on the A31 westbound near Ringwood.
“A man in his 20s sustained a serious ankle injury as a result of the collision.”
The Highways Agency, fire and ambulance service have been approached for more details.
