RECENT statistics show the average rent price in Wiltshire, which has risen by almost 20 per cent since 2020.
Figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show the average private rent in Wiltshire reached £964 per month in the year to September – up 18 per cent from 2020.
The figures are a seven per cent increase from the same time last year, when rent was an average of £904 a month.
Valuation Office Agency rent officers collect prices from a variety of sources, including landlords and letting agents, with the aim to collect data on approximately 10 per cent of the market.

The figures for Wiltshire are lower than that of the rest of the country. In September 2024, the average private rent in Great Britain was £1,295 per month.
The figures also show the different costs for various homes in Wiltshire, from £660 for a one-bed property to £1,569 for a home with four or more bedrooms in September.
