The changing of the lightbulb saw Salisbury Cathedral's clerk of works Gary Price climb up inside the 123m spire before exiting via a small door to make the final ascent on the outside.

In 2010, former Blue Peter presenter Helen Skelton climbed the spire to change the lightbulb, awarding steeplejack Brian Moors with a Blue Peter badge for his assistance.
