THOUSANDS was raised for charity when a hotel sold invisible chips to diners.
Portions of invisible chips, bought by diners at The George in Amesbury, helped owners The Coaching Inn Group raise thousands of pounds for Hospitality Action.
Diners who chose invisible chips made a £2 donation to the catering industry charity, which supports anyone working in the hotels and catering industry in their time of need.
The Group, which has grown in recent years, owns 35 hotels and inns across the country and this year’s invisible chips donations totalled £7,390.

Chief Operating Officer, Adam Charity, said the group’s whole ethos was based around providing ‘hospitality from the heart’ for all the market town communities it served.
Charity said: "So, thanks to our core base of generous hearted community customers and our many hotel guests we have now been able to donate more than £35,000 to Hospitality Action over the past four years."
Founded back in 1837 Hospitality action offers time of need support to all those, whether working in hotels, restaurants, pubs, bars, cafes, schools, hospitals, or event venues.
Since the start of 2020, they have spent some £3,000,000 and awarded more than 10,000 grants to hospitality households across the UK.
