A refurbished bus shelter was reopened in the New Forest by residents and councillors.

On Saturday, October 5, Woodgreen’s village bus shelter was officially reopened by Woodgreen Parish Council. It comes after a programme of refurbishment mostly funded by a community infrastructure levy grant from New Forest District Council.

The opening was performed by Val Stern and Pete Skinner, two residents and probably some of the first to use the original shelter when it was erected to commemorate the Festival of Britain in 1951.

Only the school bus to The Burgate School regularly calls at the stop but with the improvements it can now also be used as a meeting place or for villagers and walkers to rest.
