A POWERCUT has hit a Hampshire town, throwing large parts into darkness.
Fordingbridge in Hampshire has been hit by an unplanned power-outage, leaving parts of the town and the surrounding area without electricity.
According to energy provider Southern and Scottish Electricity Network (SSEN), the cause of the fault is a problem with their overhead network.
The outage was first reported at 08:56, with around 37 homes and 278 customers affected, but SSEN say they hope to restore power by 13:00.
We’re sorry for the #POWERCUT affecting #FORDINGBRIDGE and the surrounding areas. Engineers are en-route and expect to have the power back on by 1pm.
