A female member of the British Army Air Corps has described the moment her colleague stubbed a cigarette out on her face after she rejected her sexual advances.

The alleged victim told a court that Airtrooper Olivia Nelson 'dabbed her on the cheek' with a lit cigarette, leaving a red mark which was there for days.

Giving evidence at Winchester Crown Court, the woman told how after AirTrp Nelson and her girlfriend broke she had 'tried to comfort her as much as [she] could'.

But just days after the split she said she sexually assaulted her after coming back drunk to Middle Wallop Army Barracks.

She said: "She came over to my bed and I remember her trying to kiss me.

"She walked over to my bed and then she was just like in my face trying to grab my face and just laughing. I think I said to her something like what are you doing, get off me."

AirTrp Nelson then allegedly tried to make her go to the toilets with her, and after the colleague repeatedly told her no she eventually went to bed, the court heard.

But when the soldier later got up to go to the toilet , she said AirTrp Nelson followed her.

"She came up to me again and she kept trying to kiss me," she said, "she started grabbing me by the neck. I was shocked, I kept asking her to get off me. I was saying it quite loud, the windows on the block were open as well so people [...] could probably hear.

"I was trying to I think to get her off me and I was trying to walk out the door and she was stepping in front of me."

When she did eventually escape, she went back to bed and Nelson allegedly tried to assault her once again.

"I had my dressing gown on and she put my dressing gown up. She tried to pull my pants down. I was trying to keep hold of them so she wouldn't pull them down," she said.

The next morning, Nelson allegedly told the victim 'Sorry I don’t know what came over me last night'.

At a social event at a pub in Andover a few days later, the woman said she opened the door of a toilet slightly ajar when Nelson 'pushed her way through'.

"She kept trying to kiss me. Her hands - one was around my neck, and one she was feeling my boobs," she said.

The colleague said that she may have said 'I will just give you a peck and that’s it' to try to get Nelson to leave her alone, but she didn't kiss Nelson back.

Nelson's hand then went to the colleague's leggings, where she tried to touch her intimately.

"I felt quite numb in the moment, didn’t know what to do," the alleged victim said.

When she tried to leave and pushed Nelson away, Nelson followed her and started touching her intimately again over her clothes.

The colleague asked a friend to go with her on further trips she took to the toilet that night - 'Because I knew nothing could happen to me if [my friend] was there', she said.

Nelson followed the colleague and her friend into the toilets - 'she got me by the neck again and pushed me against the door', the colleague said.

She said 'get off', and left the toilets.

The group Nelson and the colleague were a part of moved outside, and both women started smoking.

"It was weird because Nelson never really smoked but we were sort of stood in a circle-ish.

"Just like in a crowd, and she got the cigarette from somebody else and then she burnt it on my face. She just like dabbed it on my cheek," the colleague told the court.

Nelson apologised shortly after, and the colleague said she had no idea why Nelson did that.

"It was more of a shock, it burnt but it was just a red mark for a couple of days, it didn’t scar or anything," the colleague said.

The trial, which began on October 1, continues.
