A scout group has been invited to an exclusive viewing of a new museum wing.

The 4th Salisbury (Harnham) Scout Group was given a special preview of the new section of Salisbury Museum on Friday, September 20.

The Scouts have been involved in two projects with the museum over the past two years.

The first project was an environmental crisis film, which saw the Scouts research various environmental issues and learn filmmaking skills over six weeks.

Their findings were presented in the final film, which is on display at the museum.

The second project involved a group photo with the Salisbury Giant.

Groups from all over Salisbury were invited to have photos taken with the giant.

Assistant district commissioner Mark Warner said: "I think that the Scouts all found different areas of interest i.e. some were drawn to dressing up props while others were watching the video displayed and artefact galleries.

"They also liked the fact that the Scout group was on display via the film, Giant photo, and video display and acknowledgements board."

The exclusive viewing was arranged by Bridget Telfer, project curator at The Salisbury Museum.
